The NFA is pleased to advise that we are now taking bookings for our forthcoming seminar ‘Working with the Private Rented Sector.'

The one day event will take place on 2nd April 2014, at the CIH Office, central London, with expert speaker sessions and workshops covering:

- Current policy issues and challenges facing the private rented sector
- The legal practicalities associated with working in the PRS, including managing expectations, tenancies, deposits and dispute resolutions
-Build to rent – the potential for ALMOs to use local authority self-financing to build and manage new PRS homes
- Developing a social lettings agency – incentives for landlords as well as branding and differentiated service officers
- Operating private sector licensing schemes and the benefits to tents, landlords and local authorities
- Developing a private sector leasing scheme – looking at effective strategies and approaches to providing local affordable good quality accommodation
- Where next for ALMOs – the NFAs 2015 election manifesto commitment and trends within the ALMO sector

The NFA will also be launching its Best Practice Publication ‘Engaging with the Private Rented Sector’ at this event, so delegates will be the first to receive a complimentary copy on the day.

The event will be useful for both ALMO and local authority decision makers to attend, as well as new business development, service improvement, and policy and research officers. The programme will provide expert advice and share existing practice lessons invaluable to ALMOs and local authorities who are considering developing services within the PRS. In addition the day will provide practical tips and advice to operational staff involved with delivering or managing existing projects in partnership with the private rented sector. If you could circulate this email to the most appropriate person in your organisation that would be appreciated.

Delegate numbers for this event are restricted, so to secure your place and avoid disappointment please book early. The cost of the event is £200 for NFA members and £245 for non members.

If you have any enquiries regarding the event please contact Marion Conlon on 02476 851 777, or email policyandpractice@cih.org
